JORY COUGHENOUR - SPORTS ZONE EXPRESS PRESIDENT
Jory played his high school baseball at Uniontown, After high school, he attended the University of
Pittsburgh where his 233 IP set a Pitt record for innings pitched. The Houston Astros selected Coughenour
in the 20th round of the 2000 amateur draft, with the 607th pick. Jory played with Auburn Doubledays,
Round Rock Express, Michigan Battle Cats & Salem Avalanche. After his Houston Astros career, he pitched
one summer with the Washington Wildthings.
PATRICK CUTSHALL - BEAVER COUNTY SPORTS ZONE PRESIDENT
Patrick played his high school baseball at Blackhawk, After high school, he attended Mercyhurst College
and still owns the single season homerun and RBI records. The Houston Astros selected Cutshall in the 17th
round of the 1997 amateur draft. Patrick played with Auburn Doubledays, Quad City River Bandits &
Michigan Battle Cats. Patrick was inducted into the Mercyhurst College Hall of Fame in 2009.
NATHAN NERY - DIRECTOR OF BASEBALL OPERATIONS
Nathan played his high school baseball at Moon where he was 10-0 with 130 strikeouts in 63 innings. He
allowed only 37 hits and had a 1.22 ERA., After high school, he attended Stetson University and was 7-5 his
junior year before being selected in the 18th round of the 2006 amateur draft by the Baltimore Orioles.
Nathan played with Aberdeen Ironbirds, Delmarva Shorebirds, Fredrick Keys & Bowie Baysox.
AUSTIN WULF - SPORTS ZONE EXPRESS COACH / HITTING INSTRUCTOR
Austin played his high school baseball at Blackhawk where he was a Louisville Slugger High School
All-American. Austin played his collegiate baseball at Tennessee Tech University where he finished his career
with a .308 batting average. Austin currently coaches the Sports Zone Express 12U Gold team and is the
organizational hitting and outfield coach.
RICH PASQUALE - HITTING INSTRUCTOR
Rich played his collegiate baseball career at Francis Marion University. After college, Rich was assistant
coach at Penn State Beaver (1995-1999), the University of Pittsburgh (2000-2002), La Roche College
(2003-2006) and Slippery Rock University (2007). He was head coach of Youngstown State University from
2008-2012, winning Horizon League Co-Coach of the Year his first year. Rich is currently an Associate
Scout for the Baltimore Orioles covering Western PA.
CHRIS COENNEN - SPORTS ZONE EXPRESS COACH
Chris played his high school career at Seneca Valley and continued his baseball career at Waynesburg
University. After college, Chris coached two years with the Sports Zone Express prior to moving to
Virginia. In Virginia, Chris was the head coach of Hopewell High School for two seasons. Chris returned to
Pennsylvania and was an assistant coach at Freedom High School before returning to the Sports Zone
Express staff. Chris is currently the Sports Zone Express 14U coach.
career batting average with the Vulcans was .375 and DiMatteo hit 31 home runs with 50 doubles, and in
Sam played his high school career at Center before moving on to California University of PA. His four-year
2010 he led Cal to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship and was named tournament
MVP. Sam has continued his career by playing independent baseball with Ruidoso Osos and Trinidad
Triggers in the Pecos League. Sam played the 2014 season with the Fort Worth Cats.
ADAM LIBERATORE - PITCHING INSTRUCTOR
Adam played his high school career at Blackhawk and his collegiate ball at Tennessee Tech, Adam was
drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 21st round of the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft. Adam spent 5
years in the minor leagues (Hudson Valley Renegades, Charlotte Stone Crabs, Surprise Suguaros,
Montogomery Biscuits, Durham Bulls, Oklahoma City Dodgers) before making the Los Angeles Dodgers
major league roster in April 2015. Adam is currently a relief pitcher for the Dodgers.
